As soon as proposed with the Astley Clarke engagement ring that I had been longing for, I knew that I would have to have the matching Rose Gold wedding band. It is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to wear it!
Unlike Prince William, Christian would like to wear a ring. A wedding ring symbolises the life long commitment you are making in your vows. This is equally relevant to both the bride and groom, so I am really pleased that Christian is happy to wear a ring.
We went to have a look in a few shops when we were last in Leeds. But we both found it a bit intense! We were the only customers in the first shop we walked in to, and we felt the pressure was on us! We also realised quite quickly that we had walked into a very expensive jewellers!
Over Christmas, my future sister in law recommended a company called Smooch. They sell wedding rings, but rather than having to venture into town, they will come to your home. I got in touch, booked an appointment, and a week later, Rob came round one evening after work.
He bought with him a huge selection of wedding rings, and explained that we should use the samples to find a shape, and finish we like. Each ring is made to order so you can customise it to be exactly as you want. Christian already knew roughly what he wanted, but we had fun trying on some of the blingy knuckle dusters! In the end, he chose a simple yet stylish 5.5mm polished palladium ring.
I was really impressed with the way that Rob made us feel totally comfortable. There was no pressure, and he was able to answer any questions we had. I also enjoyed finding out about his Wedding Fayre business Whoop Events. I’m hoping to go along to their next show in Leicester on the 22nd Feb.
If that wasn’t enough, Smooch also give every customer the chance to win some exciting prizes with their scratch card. We won an upgrade from a standard ring box, to a wooden version. That’s still not all… with every purchase you get a free gift for your bridesmaids and best man! For the girls you can choose between a pearl bracelet, a necklace or a pair of earrings each. For the boys, they get a pair of Best Man cufflinks!
Finally, all Smooch rings are covered with a lifetime guarantee! This means that if it gets damaged or scratched they will repair it. They will also resize it for free should you need to.
If you are thinking of buying your wedding rings, then I would definitely recommend this service. And if you are in the Leicester/Nottingham/Sheffield area then it’s worth asking for Rob Scott.
I’ll post some pictures of Christians ring when we’ve got it!
