In keeping with the ‘rustic’ theme I am going after, I want to keep our pew ends nice and simple. So I have made 18 of these Jam Jar vases. I am planning to fill them with wild flowers though they could be used with candles as an alternative.
You will need:
Twine (I used two thicknesses but this is up to you)
Double Sided Tape
Ruler or Tape Measure
Cocktail sticks or similar
Wrap the top of the jar with double sided tape ensuring it is wrapped all the way around. Don’t worry if it’s a bit bumpy, the twine will hide this.
Wrap the twine around the tape three times
On the fourth layer, hold the cocktail stick in place to keep a loop free. You will need a loop on each side of the jar.
Continue wrapping the twine until you reach the top of the jar
Apply a small amount of super glue to stick the end of the twine down
Measure out and cut the twine for the handle (I needed 80cm based on the size of the pews where I am getting married)
Thread the handle through the loop, and tie. Repeat on the other side of the jar
And there you go! They are so quick and simple to do, and will hopefully look great in church!
