Firstly… if you are Chloe, Laura, Alice or Nina… don’t read this! It will ruin one of your Bridesmaids surprises!
If you are anyone else… then please read on.
I have got a list that never ends of craft projects for the wedding! Last weekend I managed to tick one thing off! I’ve made some dress hangers for each of my bridesmaids (and one for me too!).
This was definitely a ‘nice to have’ as opposed to a ‘need to have’. But they were so easy to make! And they’ll look cute in the photo’s.
If you’d like to have a go at making your own…
You Will Need:
Spray Paint (I used a Copper one from Country Baskets)
Kitchen Towel or Masking Tape
Needle & Thread
Cover the metal part of the hanger with masking tape or kitchen towel
Spray the hangers, making sure that you get all the hidden bits! Once dry, turn them over and do the same on the other side
Spray the wooden hearts with the Chalkboard Spray Paint. Once dry, spray the other side too. This chalkboard spray can take a while to dry, but it is worth waiting, Otherwise you will end up with it all over your fingers (I talk from experience!)
Once the hearts are completely dry, you can personalise them using the chalk pens. I chose to write Bridesmaid on one side, and the girls names on the reverse. I suggest practising first, or write it in pencil first.
Thread the twine through the heart, and tie to around the hanger
Tie a bow using a length of the Hessian Ribbon. Then using the needle and thread, stitch this to the metal part of the hanger.
And that’s it! It is really simple but I am really pleased with how they look! I’d love to see pictures if you decide to have a go!
